Caterpillar Tree

breathless, you leave me
swaying with your breeze
my world no longer in focus
as my aperture is set
on you

the wind quickens now
i feel the hairs rise
along the nape of my neck
feeling like the bud
of a caterpillar tree
hoping
i become a butterfly
before your breeze
passes me by
