Weekly Photo Challenge: The World through Your Eyes

This week’s challenge is pretty cool – show photos that demonstrate using the frame to demonstrate what the photographer sees in his or her mind when they are taking the shot. Check out the Daily Post for details on the challenge.

This uses positioning and light to bring out the bird’s interaction with the water. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50
Here, I used vanishing points to lead the viewer through the cemetery to the old church. Nikon D300
More use of vanishing points. Nikon D300
A favorite way to get the viewer in my head is to shift the angle to a unique perspective, and marry that with a narrow depth of field. Nikon D90
My subject wasn’t the bluejay. It was the light and shadows on the bluejay. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50
A final shot that combines lighting and dof to lead the viewer’s eyes (hopefully) along the grass flower’s length. Nikon D600
